Home-Made IEMs

Do you have a crossover and damper recommendation for this set up , I'm new at this with individual components, I did build a preassembled 3ba 31732 with dampers but micro soldering is new to me I'm using smd's caps and resistors.

I got this schematic from web which is designed by Sonion, I haven't tried it yet, have detailed tube length, tube size, damper, capacitor and resistor used for each driver. Trial and modify as what you want.

Hello, I'm trying to simulate the my new IEM design in vituixcad, but im getting this peak around 4-5k that Im trying to get rid of. I tried adding green and red dampeners but they dont seem to be doing much. Any advice would be appreciated. 1647332794173.png
I am using a 38DJ007Mi/8a for the woofer, 2389D for the mids, and a SWFK for the top end
How did you wire the 2389D, I got a fresh pair and not sure if middle tap is used on the dual ba or if it's series or parallel.

I mean
38D1XJ is two driver
I meant internal series

Same for 2389D
They are two driver
Again I meant internal series

What I will do is draw a diagram for you tommorow(if I was not clear enough)
It's late here
I was hoping to see a diagram of this set up I'm stuck with how to wire those drives, (+ - )/(+ +) (- -)? And if I wanted to keep the 2389D as a mid and throw in a swfk

Working on sub bass with Sonion 38AP0011GM/8a. I made a small rear chamber (results should apply to 2 drivers back to back) and tested a long tube vent, 0.3mm ID. There is a 0.18mm PEEK orifice in the tube as a physical low pass, for all measurements. I tried re-introducing the vent tube into the main sound bore but the results were not favorable at any reasonable length. Reasonable is a relative term, as I started with 6.5" / 165mm long tube.

If nothing else, this can be a packaging solution for vented drivers in resin filled shells. Especially if you like sub bass :)

Edit: the 0.6mm rear vent measurement was from pulling the tube out of the chamber. Just a piece of plastic that is sealed. Tube is 0.3mm ID x 0.6mm OD. Response is similar to open vent. If you want linear rising bass response, this is one way to do it. Some type of orifice or long/small sound bore is required. Heavy damper would probably work also.

Thats pretty interesting. I'd thought about feeding the vent back into the main bore so it acted like a passive radiator...pretty common in loudspeaker setups to maximize bass. So you were not impressed with the results?

It just reduced sub bass and added distortion, I think it needs an orifice between the driver and the tube also, to create An actual chamber. But yes, the simple tube vent results are interesting so I will do something with that. This was tested at a reduce volume, it is louder than indicated on the graph.

Maybe they are not as damages as you said.

Download a "sensors" app on your phone, it will have a magnetic flux sensor. Use this to test and find a suitable shielding material, thin strip of stainless steel maybe.

It will be long term damage I think, so not good for a finished design.

A few days being close together might not be a problem at all.

The effect you have obtained causes an enlargement of the pressure flow in front of the driver, this can be achieved in the same way if you use a larger tube, such as 2mm instead of 1.5mm or 1mm. On the same rule if you need a vent 2mm (3.14mm2), you can make a vent 1mmx3.14mm etc

I am sorry to barge in. Do anyone know if this store is legit?

https://a.aliexpress.com/_oBS4O2O

Price is similar with taobao price.

I hope so, because I ordered some 37AAX007/A bone conduction drivers a few days ago. Tracking is active and progressing normally. They also have some of the new Knowles drivers, RAN-62462-B148 around $8usd each, automated assembly line..... Yes I got a few of those also, coupon codes :)

I brought this speakers. They seems to work so. It's legit. Regarding the freq I don't have one yet, I am still building my IEMS (glued together with T-7000)
