Home-Made IEMs

That's a huge bummer, I'm sorry your pair had this happen. I'm curious but not enough to mess around with something that isn't mine. How far out can you pull the MMCX connector? Is it possible to unwind and extract it from the shell? based on the shell, it could be soldered to the wires, wound up, and then press-fit from the top.
It fully comes out of the shell, no wire. Solder must have broken. It had been replaced before.

If you'd be willing to try and tinker, I'll happily send. The only place I know that will do the work is in the UK. It's a loss at this point.

What do you think?
And I don’t know what is ve8-esque:)
I was thinking Vision Ears VE8, but after trying to find the graph i had in mind I noticed that, no it's not that IEM.
Instead I think you have very JH Audio like target response with graph similar to Layla Aion or JH13v2

O that interesting. May be they using same drivers . But I kinda liked it . I used orange filter on sonion 3300 and green on twfk , 22 uf cap on twfk and reverse (+-)

Thank goodness, my coupler isn't broken. Sound card fixed it right up. Measurements are a bit wonky, ear gain seems to have shifted up 1kHz? But otherwise it seems to be fine. Anyways here's my first functional 3-way crossover, 2DD+1BA with no physical damping, only electric crossover:

And with each individual driver:

...and compared to truthear zero red. Here you can see what I mean about the ear gain, since the red's midrange certainly shouldn't be peaking at ~4kHz as it does here:

Is there anyone in the US who could re-install a detached mmcx connector from a Sony IER-Z1R? Seems a bloody shame to trash it.

I replaced the MMCX connectors in my SE425 a few months ago so technically I could do this. The issue is that I have no idea how to take the Z1R apart. If anyone finds a guide and it doesn't require anything other than heating, unplugging the back, repairing, and glueing it back, I could help you out.
