Yup, I've heard stories about St. Maarten-Princess Juliana Int'l airport and have seen similar aircraft approach pics at that airport. It's been said that when the aircrafts make their landing approach at St. Maarten-Princess Juliana Int'l, the people on the beach below can feel the sand being whipped up by the passing aircraft.

When I was much younger, my friends and I would lay down on a certain hill by Bachman Lake in Dallas which was directly under a runway path for Love Field.

The jetliners would pass so close to us that it felt like you could reach up and grab the tire.

The noise was incredible and so was the rush. Like I said, I was much younger then...

Imagine what it would sound like when the jets but their engines into full reverse thrust to slow down on the run way.

I remember thinking the exact thing when I first saw the pictures! It's been some time since then though and yes, that beach is now closed off to the public.

That beach is a tinnitus-conscious-Head-Fier's nightmare!

Wow, that last picture is absolutely insane. It looks like anyone with a half-decent vertical could jump up and hit a tire

I didn't see anyone playing volleyball on the beach. The ball was probably sucked into the engine. (along with the net, and a few players). Thanks for the photos, OP.

That's scary.

That would be a good place to test the isolation of headphones like Ety's.

I thought a plane coming down that close to people would blow them away. I though planes produced a drop pressure when they land. Ever seen the movie" Pushing Tin".

I think its when they take off that people can fly if theyre right under it, saw a movie like that too, might have been the same as you.
