Nankai, does the HiFiMAN use the BB OPA627AU for the line out?

Thanks for the photo, as I dare not void the warranty (tempted, yes; but, alas, didn't have the bottle).
Thanks for the detailed pics. Solder is a little excessive on the through hole components and jacks, but they are nice and shiny looking at least. (read - no cold solder joints). Well, at least you'll know the joints won't snap off easily.
Do you have a pic of the other side?

It has to, unless you want a mono DAC.

1704K, yet according to the Head Direct it states 1704U. Is the K designation a new upgrade? Sorry but I have not bee keeping up w/ the HM-801. Thanks.

UK is supposedly better, I think the reason why it is advertised as having the U model is because of the limited availability of the UK model. I think that was the reason given a long long time ago in some other thread.

Is there any way to identify what dac is used by simply looking at the box serial numbers or date of manufacture? I called Headroom today and they could not tell me wether their players in stock housed the 1704 or 1704K!... seems like there should be a way to tell. Are the current HF-801 still manufactured with the 1704K or have they already ran out? That little "k" letter is important to me
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks for the information Fang. The HM-801 is a sweet sounding unit, the loaner I received is hard to put down.

So that pair of bridged pins on the square chip (top left) is intentional?
