Ha ha ha, that's a classic!

Tell you what though, I'm definitely watching Downfall tonight, what a film!

If anyone wants a free copy of "Der Untergang", then let me know through a PM and I will post it you, I bought it thinking it had English subs...it didn't!

I must admit I feel a little conflicted about this whole idea of making light of and then laughing over a seriously f-cked subject like that evil son of a b!tch hitler, but for some reason the cut-ups are just so damn funny. But I hope no one is offended.

Apart from being fodder for great youtube parodies, Downfall is one of the best films I have seen in recent years. A joint German-Austrian production, it drew from recent scholarship, including the memoir of Hitler's private secretary. Bruno Ganz (IIRC, the first German-speaking actor to portray Hitler) is amazing, giving us a performance that is troubling for the viewer (Roger Ebert said it made him feel sympathy "in the sense I would feel it for a rabid dog").

The film is not above criticism, but it was for me extremely powerful. It stayed with me for a few days.

Does anyone know how it compares along the lines of "Valkyrie"?

Yeah, and anybody who find this funny is probably a Sandisk fanboy, or too poor to buy an iPod. :p See, that can be twisted the other way too. Are you so blatantly ignorant that there might be some people that can understand German, or maybe just sick of the tired Hitler meme?

Anyway, love the "who's running that place, stalin?" sub.
