I am looking for a high quality external enclosure. I have an AMS Venus enclosure that was rated pretty highly on Newegg, but it's still a cheap POS. The fan is loud and runs constantly. I have three of these enclosures and lost one within the year. Not a big deal, but I would like to find something better.

I want a more solidly built enclosure with good, quiet cooling. Something that is very well made and will last a long time. Also, is there an enclosure that powers down or hibernates when not in use? I would really like to leave my hd on all the time.

I'd appreciate any thoughts people may have

I have an M9-DX that I am pretty pleased with. It is on 24/7, it goes to sleep when I send the Mac to sleep. The only time I heard the fan was when I shoved all my music onto it, which took a while, must have been around 160-170GB at the time.
