Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm pretty sensitive to treble peaks and would much prefer a darker open headphone with bass flat to 20hz.
90% of my music is Electronic (which can get harsh on alot of cans).
Are something like the LCD2s my best bet? Will they have enough bass coming from the DT770s?

I would go with the HE-500 instead of the LCD-2.  They tend to be more consistent with the sound signature and they are a tad smoother with most music.  They are cheaper as well.

Based on reviews and the freq response there is a sharp treble peak on the Hifiman headphones that really looks scary. The distortion on the HE-500 doesn't really seem upto par when compared to the LCD or HE-6. The bass also seems to roll off a bit compared to the Audeze.

I auditioned both side by side and the HE-500 won out unless being compared to the most recent LCD-2 and LCD-3 products.  Because of the drivers issues in the LCD-2 / LCD-3 products I hesitate to recommend them to anyone.  There are a few types out there that for the price sound horrible compared to the "fixed" versions.  Hopefully the issues go away completely, but the HE-500 is still an awesome sounding headphone.

I was under the impression that the issues had gone away.

What DAC and head amp. are the headphones going to be plugged into?

These will be fed by the ODAC and O2Amp therefore ruling the he-6 out.

Yes they are your best bet for what you want. (JMO)The driver issues are gone on the new models.
