High-end Music Server recommendations?

Others have already mentioned this, but just hopping on to give another +1 to using a NUC. It doesn't even need to be a recent model. In my case, I was using a NUC 8th gen until recently, and the upgrade to a newer model had nothing to do with Roon. I use the 'steefdebruijn/docker-roonserver:latest' container image, and haven't had any problems from a platform point of view. Even the 8th gen NUC was able to do the heavy lifting stuff, like converting to DSD, without any issues. And if it wasn't obvious, this is far from a dedicated system. It's doing all kinds of other stuff all the time, with Roon just being an "extra".

thanks for your reply. I tried to contact "the guy" and he sent me back to the dealer :frowning2:
That’s the way he deals with customers…even if there’s no dealer in your country.
Have attached some info… IMG_8360.png

A strange thing I noticed today: on the back of my MarkLevinson 519 DAC I also have 2 sockets to put USB Stick with music files.
And... the files stored in an old 64 GB stick sound better than the same stored in a brand new 1 TB stick!?!

Is it my ears playing tricks on me or is it possible?

—> Are there some usb stick brands recommended for this ?

Maybe to reach 1 TB they do weird hardware/firmware manipulations?

(It was a time SONY had released a special memory card for its walkmans. 2 times more expensive than the others and of course…. I didn't believe it at all...)
