I spoke to the supplier in France, it's a prototype HIFIMAN sent to them, never tried it.
 
I took a chance and bought it , can return within 15 days. I'll see how it compares to my Minibox (mk1)

I have a thing for tubes, mmmm tubes haha.
 
BUT for now I think I may just settle back into reality and enjoy what I have.
 
I am actually enw to the whole HM901 and amp cards thing.
I know there are rare cards out there, one of which I have coming to me, however where do you guys keep tabs on what is being developed etc for the HM901/802 etc?

I have a question for the HM-901 community - I just recently purchased an HM-901 from eBay for a good price and I want to make sure that I indeed receive an HM-901. Is there any way to further differentiate an HM-901 from an HM-802 apart from the markings on the removable cover on the back?

I just noticed on mine that product ID is : UNKNOWN !
Do you have the same ? Is it relative to the firmware ? TAICHI UI2, kernel version k3.0, UI version 2.001.
Bought new to an official seller.

I know that Hifiman worked for some time to get the batteries right and I have heard of no after market batteries and I wouldn't try any. As far as the charger goes, the same thing.

Yes, that's how I understand it. It's only a stand wherein you mount the battery for charging. The original charger has to be used with it.
This also means that you can only charge one battery at the time unless you buy an aditional charger for the stand.
 
As for your second question, the answer is in the link you just posted ... and it's a yes.
