Does the headband/yokes of the v2 allow for a bit more rotation?

When i demoed the he6se a LONG time ago i found the lack of rotation meant there was a bit of a gap/ not enough clamp from the earpads in the front of my ears

Yes, the yokes of the V2 provide for some rotation/swivel. Quite a bit more than you might expect from the pics if you're unfamiliar with the headband.

Yes, but not much. The stock headband works for some, but not all. IMO the stock headband on the v2 is worth replacing. As a ready option, the New Enhanced Comfort headband is an easy swap that is worlds more comfortable and allows for 180-degree cup rotation.

I guess they didn't want to cannibalize their oval drivers target comfort-wise and also had a huge inventory of that headband already used on their entry levels(HE400SE etc).

Oddly enough, stock cable was really a great choice in the opinion of their CEO as he stated clearly in an interview.
The headband on the HE-4XX is way better and it’s pretty cheap too. As I’ve written many times they do great with drivers but the rest is not designed or made with any real care or insight.

That cable is dreck by way of example

Yeah, the Focal cables don't fit perfectly on the HE6 V2 because of the notch. You might be able to make it work, but it’s not ideal. Probably better off getting a proper cable if you wanna go balanced.
Its (HE-6 SE) a common size (3.5) so usable on many other cans.

he6se v2 is excellent - after the grill mod and headband swap /pads swap - i use it more compared to the hifiman he1000se . i power this one wiht smsl ao200 which is only a $250 amplifier - im using speaker taps.
