So just cut the angled part completely (instead of bending it?)
Before screwing the Audeze yokes into the cups of my HE-500, I snipped off that hook part and then filed the area down to smooth the metal at the cut site.

I swapped the headband. One thing that annoyed me is the angled end in one side of the yoke, that can scratch the headphone without adding a washer.

Is there a better way to do so?
The recommendation is to cut it off with tin snips or bend it out of the way with pliars, this will make the yokes not work great with audeze headphones however

I really like mine now. I might try the angled dan clark pads but it's nice with the Dekonis as well. I went for two 3mm PPI10 PU for dampening in the end. Still not decided between using one or two of them. The main difference seems to be in the 6k range.

Man do these things scale up well. I was happy with my mojo and marants speaker amp, but couldn't resist on a good price for a jot1 w/4490 dac chip. Now that I'm running balanced fed by the mojo, to me the separations of instruments on a busy track are much clearer and detail for instruments are much better. Really really liking these and probably a keeper for a awhile.

Brand new HE6se v2 owner here! Found a comfort solution that works well for me. Half a ZMF co-pilot pad, attached with some velcro strips to the headband. Not the most elegant solution, but it makes the comfort pillowy with very evenly distributed weight. Highly recommended if you have one on hand!

Now on the lookout for new pads. I see the Dan Clark angled Ether pads are a popular choice, assuming they're still lambskin. Question for you angled pad users: do they use the same adhesive other DCA pads have? Or is there any particular way people like to attach them? (Edit: Just saw ksorota's post on another thread addressing this. Looks like the way to go is attach the hifiman clips to the angled pads.)

Dang! Looks like the Ether angled pads are made of synthetic protein leather, not lambskin anymore. I ordered a pair anyway, hope they sound decent. Anyone have any idea where to find the original lambskin pads?

I tried the Dekoni Sheepskin elite leather pads earlier.

It made the treble peaky so I had to add a padding to filter it. But that came as wrapping around its plastic clip instead of being glued to the clip. No adhesive involved.

I would still use the original earpads (with a bass eq) over the dekoni sheepskin in terms of sound.

TL;DR: do not try to bend the angled metal of the Audeze yoke, because the force breaks it.

Luckily nothing else was broken and it has the same effect as the tin snip :D

I wish this headphone wasn't so hard to find without getting gouged for double or more of the Nov 2020 sale price. I have a Jot 2 sitting on my desk waiting to power up these bad boys!

I just used some nylon spacers, so I didn't need to bend the Audeze yokes when fitting them to my HE-500 cups.

Yes it worked, but the HE6SE screws are too short and did not go inside the plastic "nuts" too far so it went loose easily. Then I decided to bend just a little bit to give a bit more space.

I threw away the stock screws of my HE-500 since they were easily-stripped crap and grabbed more durable and longer screws from a local hardware store. The screws of the HE6sev2 look far better than the crap screws that were used in the OG Hifimans. Anyways, you probably could have found similar but longer screws for your HE6sev2 at a hardware store for the headband swap if you so desired to do it without bending the yoke.
