I reached out to Hifiman after seeing someone selling an HE1000v2 that comes with Serenity pads, and sure enough the V2 no longer comes with Ultra pads, rather, it has the mesh dust cover installed right on the cups. I was wondering if anyone had removed the inner dust cover and replaced Serenity with an Ultra pad? I suppose one could remove the dust cover on the Ultra pad instead but I'd rather keep it on there and remove the one of the ear cup especially if it's dirty or damaged somehow. I presume keeping both dust covers intact would not be a good idea?
