Old post, but how do you EQ exactly? The full harman curve as a goal? Or only some parts? Do you lower the 12000Hz part too? I have only tame a bit the 5000-8000 to match the Hcurve. But I am not changing the S part at 2000 not corresponding to the Hcurve, dont like the result. Anyway, for musics (and not songs) I tend to use it stock
I don't give a F about Harmen curve I eq till things sound natural and Harmen does not sound natural to me.
My current EQ for the HE1000se is just wide depressions -2dB a round 190hz and -3dB from 3-7khz and -3dB around 14khz.

I don't have the exact values as I'm travelling right now but you should play with them to suite your ears and preferences.

Oratory1990 has a HE1000SE EQ that is much warmer. I listen using this most of the time. His list is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/oratory1990/wiki/index/list_of_presets/#wiki_full_list_of_eq_settings.3A
and the HE1000SE settings in particular are here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wmctxu285nnzq92/Hifiman HE1000se.pdf?dl=0

He has his own target, but this EQ in particular sounded even warmer than his normal EQ to me...which I found great. The HEKSE is a bit less airy but much more immersive with this EQ applied.

Don't know how I missed that! He also has posted an EQ for the Optimum HiFi curve. Does this mean I actually like Harman? I like whatever the Bravura has targeted. I'll have to learn to make the HEKse match one day. They're very similar with that EQ, with the Bravura maybe having a bit more of a vocal target.

can't use silver cable for the pitch added on some higher register i.e. for some pop voices ( nasal tone )
it doesn't involve really guitars/distortions , or cymbals ,
just lead voice on some recordings
anyone exp the same ?

with original cable is less evident - but I find it very bleah in other parts of sound reproduction

Coincidence

I admit I use and love the Sony wm-1zm2 house sound "direct" or DSD remastering, depending on bands and mixes i try eq's ( good ) and it definitely depends on mix or production if applying shelf to bass or tame highs etc.
He1000se can sound gorgeous on some records ( most of them really here..) on other applying eq makes the needed trick ; i ve 5 presets stored and circle them depending on genres or tracks..most of time it's direct too - no eq
I' ve also eqAPO on stationary rig

Such an hell of a good headphones..
in a good way
just saying.

Sounds outstanding in so many ways and regards of the music it plays , amazes me everyday
best headphones I've met to tell level of quality of production and mixes in records , can tell in istants if there was too much compression or if gears used for production where limiting factor or a bad radio edit for voice etc ..

@Patlezinc , pop electronic mix and production, decent in this case : sounds perfect without eq , bass is quite heavy , reverbs makes for a dynamic large stage and female voice sure recorded with pop filter , doesn't have any high/harsh/nasal pitch and it's sweet enough through the album ..not that LadyGaga voice is the sweetest female voice ( pardon Lady ) , and the electronic snare drum in this track have a more edgy and pitched tune then in others - so it's a property of the record/production and not of he1000se adding some pitch or ringing , they tell you what is what most of the time, the source too of course. Electronic or pop doesn't always sound right on he1000se.
Sometimes pop female voice sounds hazing , front-up and bright-thin with no volume/density ...most of it is in the record, part seems to be he1000se allergic to it..

perhaps it is my ears, the 12000 peak is sometimes harsh. -4db here for some songs and I feel better. I can retry the HCurve but I remember it did not sound good to me, signature lost too much

Yes, maybe the m15s is bad here, even if I found many poeple saying the He is too bright. A DAC/amp would make me loose the mobility I have now but... I see amp costing the he1000SE often mentionned here. This time I can't  But a DAC amp under 1000 could be tried.

I will return ( or sell ) the v280 or v281 ..and any of them out of a 9038pro dac dont sound bright with he1000se; I don't use a pure silver cable on them.
You need to test /try different sources before anything though to know if you are very sensitive to 12000 ( possible )
