Woah, thank you so much, I really appreciate those words, it was indeed a wild ride, and it's to be continued, so stick around! :)
I really want the se, but you make the 8k final sound great too

Haha!

Truth is...both are absolutely awesome. Can't go wrong with either, literally. Long story short - the 1000se is more extreme sounding, the D8000 Pro is more reference. The 1000se is much more comfortable though.

Try both and decide for your both, but as I said, can't go wrong with either :)

Comment on the flagship shootout topic to stay subscribed, there will be more exciting stuff getting compared in the future!

+1 to @rev92

The HEKse is really comfortable. If you can pair it with a warm sounding amp (cap modded MJ2 here) with all copper balanced cable, you will be in audio heaven.

You can see my gear, which I build around my Arya v2

If there is something not to like about the Utopia’s is its soundstage. It’s rather intimate and can’t compete with the HEKse’s in that area.

Has anyone tried the oratory eq setting for he1000se?
I wonder how it compares to Susvara.
I did, but to me it took away the charm of the SE. The bass gets boosted a bit, the mid range and air just didn't sit well with me, the mid range took a back seat and I seem to have lost the sparkle/air in the treble region.

Does it come closer to the Susvara? The SE is close to the Susvara, but both have a very different character. I think the Oratory EQ does try to make the SE smoother.

Can't go wrong with that choice.

Tonally, that does bring the SE sound close to the Susvara, in my opinion, having done a bit of A/B with them both. The Sus is still doing a lot more that you can tell, the SE is a close 2nd, but you can make it 'sound like' a sibling. I am not talking about other things such as details, imaging, etc. this is purely on 'sounds like' basis.

P.S. My chain is not the best, so the Sus may still be getting bottlenecks at a few points in the chain.

I don't own the D8000 and have only heard it at shows, so take that in to account. Anyway to me it was clear that it did not play in the same league as the SE.

I totally agree. Very few players in that league.
