I purchased some HIFIMAN on eBay for about $499, they seem NEW. The package is the same as in pictures and everything seems to be ok with the headphones and manuals and everything in between.
I'm currently using them with an Aune S6 Dac/amp combo. I just got an used Crystaline Balanced cable from eBay to use today.
I thought I was going to get massive amounts of volume out of the balanced output but I'm not. I mean when I set the S6 to 100 volume it's loud but not "painful loud" and i'm already at max, I'm not happy about this.
I'm worried either I got a faulty headphone or a faulty S6. I'm even getting more volume out of my Philips SHP9500s using the SE output vs the HE-560s on balanced output.
I used a crappy SPL meter on my phone and put it next to my headphones and at max volume I get like 78db.
Any Ideas on how to check this? I'm still on my return window on all of the gear. I just don't seem to be able to justify paying $580 for this Aune when I could've gotten the Jot for $499
