Hey everyone

Looking to upgrade my 400i's to either of these two.

I got both offered at very decent prices.

HE-500 at 400$ and HE-560 at 580$.

I mainly listen to rock and metal. Think Dream Theater, Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy, Zeppelin etc.

Which of these two are the better can for that?

I really wanna stay with HiFiMan as I love the HE-400s. All I miss is better vocals, a bit more soundstage and more refined bass.

That’s a good price for he500. There’s sound demo for both on YouTube, he500 sounds better to me.

Both are excelent, but the he560 is more "correct", less fun. For your taste he500 is the better option.

Who is charging that much for a HE-560? Pretty sure they go for $325 around here nowadays.

Flatter 1kHz down. But the 500 doesn't have that searing treble spike of the 560, it also has a much wider and deeper soundstage than the 560 - IMO.
