Hifiman HE-5 really better than HD800 and D7000?

am i reading this correctly? thats the impression i am getting from people who have heard them. just when i thought the D7000 was gonna be my headphones for a year till i can save up enough to get the HD800, fang drops this bombshell on us, i hate head-fi and i hate this hobby!

You are new here abouts so I'll explain something, the "BEST" is in the ear of the beholder. Not one phone is better than any other solely based on opinion.

That's where you come in, you have to make those decisions.

IMO the HD800 is the one to beat and the HE-5 is hot-on-the heels. The HD800 needs only the finest in amp n' source to enjoy it's benefits.

The HE-5 will make your amp cry, so you are forewarned. Need a good power base!!

The D7000, for me, isn't in the conversation. I have an LA7000 that I love to get the groove on with. My "Classic" Rock collection and some Jazz are glad it's here!

This is a great time to be into headphones....lots n' lots of fantastic choices.....

Well, the Westone 3 was said to be the the one IEM to rule them all too when it was first released...

Sometimes you have to take the things you read here with a grain of salt. A healthy dose of skepticism won't hurt too.
