K7XX is not the same as K712 Pro.
K7XX is a bassier version with slightly less extended treble acording to most third party measurements I've seen.
More often than not K7XX is considered a less refined headphone, but it might suit those who prefer a warmer presentation. It surely pairs better with modern compressed recordings.
If I recall correctly there were some reports in the past of a silent revision on K712 at some point in time, with earlier units being bassier and closer to K702 Annie vs later units being flatter and closer to K702 (but still warmer). That could explain some different impressions.
