Hi all, I'm looking at these two cans. Thoughts on which one is preferable? Thanks.

Ok, two useless answers, looking forward to some good insights going forward

I ended up with the X and XC and they are superb.
Did you buy them both? Or which one did you choose?
If you like airy sound and wide soundstage then pick arya
If you like rather intimate laidback presentation and meaty bass and deeper sub bass then pick audeze

Cool. So LCD-X and LCD-XC, no Arya?
I'm faced with a choice of which one to buy. If you have a direct comparison, can you comment on the sound?
Are they similar, or are they different?
Except, of course, open/closed.
That would be great.
Or which one do you find better and why?

what source do you want to use?
the Audeze LCD X is also well suited for DAP, it is easy to drive. The Ayra rather not so, the Ananda is also easy to drive.

I owned the LCD-X, then I bought the Arya. Then I sold the LCD-X.
They are both fantastic headphones. The X is bass heavy- and never really sounded right without EQ. The Arya is flatter, with a bright tilt. The bass is still present though. But Arya did this amazing thing with layering and seperation that I find irresistible

Arya = Lean, cool, analytical, spacious
LCD X = Thicc, warm, dynamic, wall of sound
You get two different "kinds" of detail retrieval here... Arya you get to peel back the layers a little more, the X shows you everything up-front...
