HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread

Generally good advice. I'll just chime in by saying my HD 800 and Arya Organic have absolutely ruined my 6XX for me. I can't think of a reason to go back to them.

Palette refresher once your brain gets used to the things those cans do. Keeps things fresh.

Today I read a shocking news that there are different versions of arya organic, red or orange. I'm not sure if it's just a color difference, or if the sound is also different. I have my own red one, which I bought last September.Who knows the difference between these?

I have Edition XS is Arya Stealth big upgrade?
I think the upgrade in resolution, detail separation and dynamics would be worth it.

I'd guess it's a combination of slight deviations in production and (more) different color temperature settings in the camera. Mine are made Nov. 23:

Light colour temperature and WB setting of the camera are probably the main culprits.

Well not sure now..upgrade stack or upgrade headphones? Seems that upgrading stack will be an excercise in tiny upgrades for a lot of monies. Can see that upgrading amp could be useful, but DAC? Really? Instead of spending 1000 bucks on new cans (like Arya Stealth)? So really not sure here...

Guitar player, so of course tube amp would be nice! But have to wonder whether that makes sense for headphone amps. Not aiming for the best, just really good. Pretty pleased with current setup, but it could be better. Then again my sound source is Tidal from PC hi-fi etc. So not better. So far not too stressed about it, pretty pleased with my budget setup (the magni/modi stack and hd600/hifiman he-4xx/akg k712), sounds pretty good to me. Or my earwax filled ears (half-deaf in one ear still!). Thanks again for all the comments!

When upgrading gears, it's always recommended to start with headphones. Then, an amp to pair with your headphones. DAC would come last in the upgrade chain. You'd be surprised how indifferent cheap vs. expensive DACs are.

I asked the store where I purchased Arya and he told me that the latest Arya has a different color(orange compared to red), but he promised that the sound will be the same. It is not related to the camera's effect

Are you suggesting a Magni stands up to the Bifrost 2/64?
