I am going to use some cases from Hifi2000, they offer custom machining and cnc work on panels. Do you think they do as good a job as Front Panels Express? They seem cheaper.

I can't comment on the results, as I've never ordered machining from them. The cases are very well built, and from what I've seen in pictures, they're machining is good, but again, I've got no personal experience with them.

The pricing matter is quite subjective though. If your machining work is just a few holes and letters it might be cheaper to build the plain box and send the panels to FPE. If you want something with a lot of lettering, drilling on the reverse side and so on, it might be cheaper to have hifi2000 make it!

I haven’t heard anything positive about hifi2000’s machining abilities - only gripes from a few dissatisfied customers (from memory).

alright, thanks! I want text, holes, layered holes, etc.

Im thinking Ill have to get the case AMB used for his b24 since its the only one big enoug. Unless I do galaxy at a custom size. Curious how much that would cost.

I guess their work can't be trusted. Same same, but different?

This is what I ordered:

And this is what I received:

I have used HiFi-2000 Pesante Dissipante enclosures for at least 4 power amps in the last 10 years and can confirm that
it’s not the stock part of Pesante Dissipante lines… not the dimensions, nor the material.
It just the optional aluminum plate but milled wrong, unfortunately.

From my experiences, the guys at HiFi-2000 are nice but communications with them can be a PITA...
never sure what they are thinking and doing in such case and this is a good example.

FPE might be more costly, but when they mess up, they always fix it free of charge. Hifi2000 might do that too, if you can get them to understand that they actually made a mistake in the first place

I would order the parts from Hifi2000 and send them to FPE, it just feels safer in their hands.
