I don't see how a headphone can be a home theater. I was thinking along the lines of powered bookshelf studio speakers with a sub. Now that's cinematic quality at your desk.

Virtual Surround plus a good amplifier while sitting on a desk is better for not waking up other people than a loooooooong cable to an HT receiver below the TV in the living room as far as sound quality is concerned.
