Hello to all you knowledge people in here, let me first start by saying that i own a pair of AKG K712 Pro and i use them daily 5-12 hours a day on my PC.

So now to my problem, whenever i found a link could be a facebook video/music or whatever that has media inside it, it temps to blow out my ears, because of stupidity of default 100% volume on most players that does not have an option to either save the volume control or simply is missing it.

So my question is.

Is it possible to get another cable for my AKG K712 pro headphones?

That has Mini XLR to jack/3.5mm but with built in volume control, and i assume the volume button/scroll wheel? needs to be analog in some way?

I found cables like those

But I'm afraid that those only will work with an tablet/phone?, i remember using a scroll wheel on my old headset/headphones, which i assume is analog like this

That is what i want but built into mini xlr to jack/3.5mm for my pc, i do not want dac/amp station since i got a very powerful soundcard.

Kindly regards ;).

I think the K712 Pro would be the same cable as the other similar AKG Q/K7 series headphones.

If you search within the different head-fi impressions/discussion threads for some of those AKG models (google the model name with head-fi as a keyword to find such threads), people will discuss different cables that they have purchased and used. For example, this is the headphone cable I got for my K7XX: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261798838364. I found it by searching for "cable" in the K7XX thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/743280/the-akg-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-thread

Good luck :)
