is there any difference between the orginal HFI-15G http://img01.wisecart.ne.jp/co_img1/audio110/user/0090y/hfi15g.jpg and the new one black one's http://www.itechnews.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/ultrasone-hfi-15g-headphones.jpg any differences exept the looks?

And also I heard they leak alot!!! means you can't use them in the bus.... they really leak the much that everyone in the bus will be able to hear your music?

About 5' of cord is the big difference. The old one was over 9 feet and not really that portable.

Being open cans will(may?) still be an issue on the bus though

I don't understand the question.  Are you trying to shorten the length of the new HFI-15G or the old one? You wouldn't need to shorten the new one.  It's pretty short now.

As for leaking sound, yes they do.  But they are open at the back so there is no way to prevent it.

I have never taken mine apart to see if the cord could be easily replaced.  But I would imagine if you are an electrician of sorts, you should be able to replace the cable.  That said, any of my portables that have a cable that is too long, ie. beyer 235, I just coil them up and take a piece of velcro and wrap it around.  Makes the 9 foot cord to about a four foot cord.  It's kind of bulky, but it does the trick without taking a chance on damaging the headphone.

How do you like your HFI-15G anyway?  Or have you purchased them yet?
