Someone in my algebra class had a similar ringtone, and it was very loud. People thought I was crazy when I would say "What the !@%# was that?"

i know what you mean. i'm 23(still considered young) and can hear up to 20khz easily. i get so annoyed when i hear high pitched sounds and i be the only one and everyone around me will be ''What is wrong with you? i hear nothing. your mind is playing tricks on you.'' my brother always likes playing some weird stuff on his phone and all i hear is high pitched noises. it drives me crazy.
