hey, what are some extremely comfortable headphones that are wearable for long time?

Wow, now that is interesting. I can't stand CD3000s for more than 30 minutes. They shift around every time I move. Being very position sensitive that means the sound changes continuously.

My number one choice for endurance cans are Etys with foam tips. I can wear those things all day. No interference with glasses, no warm ears, no shifting when I look down at a drawing then back at a screen. No sound leakage in any direction!

as much as i love the cd3k, i'd like to point something out. after putting them on, feels like soft pillows. but i'm afraid the strap gets to me after a long period of use. for first few minutes, nothing comes close to the cd3k comfort. for long term, i'd place my vote on beyers. my dt831 can live on my head for a century without problems.

as for the eggos, the highs gets my ears fatigued after a few hours.

one of the most comfortable headphone(s) is the Sony F1 (or so I have heard).

i feel the point is moot. to cut down on "leakage" turn down the volume. why? because high volume levels over a long period of time is very fatiguing. interesting thing about "fatigue" - there is the physical issue of fatigue (headphones clamp too much, pads are too uncomfortable, weighs too much, etc.) and the fatigue of the sound reproduced.

for non-fatiging "sound" I like the DT880. (they're reasonably comfortable, too.)

I tried on a pr. of Sony CD1700's and they were pretty damn comfy....now I am used to Senn. HD280's so some people might say I think anything is comfortable compared to those (actually I really like the feel of them and I wear glasses, but most people don't) but definitely those real high end cans are gonna be plush to your ears..I'm sure CD3000's are just as comfy.

anyway, he listens to techno and plays computer games, if that helps... and i think his budget is under $100 or soemthing.

not easy to work with.... im prolly gonna pick up some sony f1s, thoguh. but he is stupid and ghetto, yet he wants comfort, containment, and good quality... he says taht even $90 is more than he is looking to pay. i just dont get it... he really likes my eggos, but they are $90 shipped or something

Tell him to get some Senn. HD280's or some Sony V6/7506....they are closed and you can get them used for around $60 usually....great deals on decent cans.

Dammit people would you actually read threads? He wants isolation and the Sony MDR-F1 is completely open. Listen to the NewGuy, he knows more than the rest of you apparently

If he thinks the D66 sucks at containing sound, what do you think he'll think about F1's and KSC-35's? "Turn the volume down" isn't a very good recommendation, especially if this is going to be used where there's a lot of outside noise.

That news changes things a lot. It would seem that the Sony V6/7506 combo would be really well suited for him, it is just a little uncomfortable since they are suypra aural, sit on the ear, and not circum aural, go around the ear. It would seem that the Sennheiser 280's would fit his bill. Some say they are a little uncomfortable at first, but you get used to them quickly.

For me it has been the Sennheiser 600, I can have it on for hours without taking it off, cannot do that with my other phones.

Ditto. Folks, please take a moment to read the very first post here and look at the fact that he wants some cans that DON'T LEAK SOUND! That totally eliminates the Sennheiser line-up, along with many other cans also.

He also stated that he wants to spend less than $90. The Sennheisers are WAY out of that league also.

Yo, Sony V6 with the velour mod is about $90 and very comfortable. I often wear them for 12 hours straight, and even fall asleep listening to them.
