I'm searching for my next headphone amp.
I'm looking to save some desk space so a DAC/Amp combo might be good. I'd also look at standard "desktop" amps since i have a nice DAC already that I don't particularly need to sell.
The amp can be tubed or transistor.
It needs to have enough power to run my HE-500 phones (1W +). Balanced in & out would be preferred, but I can live with single ended also.
It must also be quiet enough that I can use my very sensitive JH Audio 13 IEMs as well.
It should have selectable gain to accommodate the different sensitivities of my phones.
I prefer a warmer sound signature, especially with the HE-500 phones.
It would seem that one of the new Burson amps would be what I'm looking for, but many of the reviews I've read suggest that they may lean towards a brighter, more treble emphasized sound. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.
So what is out there for me?
TIA
