I could really use some expert help with this problem:
I have a new Sony s745 (canadian model) player and I am on holiday in Florida . To recharge the battery at home I normally plugged the USB attachment into my Dell PC and wihin an hour or so the batteries were fully charged. I have the USB cable with me in Florida and no matter which USB port I plug the unit into, it will not charge, making the unit useless to me.
Here's what it is doing:
Once I plug in the USB cable the Sony player's battery icon starts to scroll as normal and the screen indicates "USB connected" and "Do not discoonect". BUT - within about 30 seconds the screen says "Saving library" and then turns itself ON and stops charging - which leaves me with a completely discharged battery.
Any ideas? I would truly appreciate some assistance - I have no music!!

possibly the usb port is set to shut off when not in use, since no data is being transfered. look at control panel/system/device manager/hardware/usb root hub; tab called power management.
might be a good idea to add info into the headline/subect ie: sony not charging need help. anyway, hope that helps. gl
