My Dad wants me to help him configure a tablet PC. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what companies are best to look at for tablet PCs. I have to stick specifically to the tablet PC platform because my Dad really wants to buy one and try it out (He has a laptop and PDA that he is quite happy with). If anyone can help point me in the right direction in regards to which companies to look at, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks

For a starter check out

I have a Fujitsu 4210 tablet. Works quite well for me. If he's looking for a convertible tablet (One that flips from laptop configuration to tablet,) check out the offerings from IBM, Asus and Fujitsu. The Toshiba Satellite has had some quality issues, although their Tecra M7 (geared more towards business people) is supposed to have pretty good build quality.
