Hi guys, 
I'm new here but i was wondering if any of you could help me out. I am wondering what kind of resistor i would need to place across a 1k pot in order to convert it into a 100 ohm pot. I'm quite new to electronics. This is to help me build my own amp.

Not if its a trimmer. 
 
The question is hopelessly open ended though.

You wont convert it into a genuine 100 ohm  pot the correct [precision]  amount of adjustment will be well out,
      Its just a wrong way of achieving what you want-Buy a 100 ohm pot-even good ones aren't dear.
