When I upload my songs onto my Itunes library, either from my computer or external hard drive, I get doubles and sometimes triples of each song. I have had to just go through and delete the extras, but how can I stop this problem in the future?

No idea, I had the same problem on our desktop computer. It was a royal pain in the arse.

that's why i sort by directories

d:\jpop\artist\album\blahblahblah
etc.

does itunes have any "Remove Duplicates" button?

Stop using iTunes.

I have no idea what would cause something like that. I am sure they will fix it sometime.

Make sure you don't have the playlist file in the folders you're adding. For some reason if you add a playist to iTunes, it adds the songs again...
