Hi everyone I just got an Aune Mini USB DAC amp to use with my Macbook pro, I connected it with the USB connection.

The DAC sounds worse than my Mac, its not a big difference but like 12% less, I hear a loss of "dynamics", bass, and vocal detail. I used Songbird and Itunes. With Flac music files.

The midi options for it are set to the highest which only goes up to 48000hzs at 2-channel 16bit stereo

I only heard an improvement when I saw youtube videos

Its been burned in for 15hrs.

Is there anything else I can do

For one, I think you should leave the Audio Midi sampling rate setting corresponding to the files you play back. For audio CD that is 44.1kHz.
Upsamling to 48kHz may end up in an audible difference.

I do not know that DAC/Amp at all, but one should not expect too much from a $150 desktop unit. Although I would have guessed that it was an upgrade compared to the built in DAC/amp.
