I'm after some recommendations for a new pair of IEM's. I have a budget of $400 (max).
 
My criteria:
 
1. Must have detachable cables.
 
2. I mostly listen to EDM and electronic music, so bass is a must.
 
3. I do not like 'over the ear' cables, I find them irritating. So the IEM's must be able to be warn with the cable straight down.
 
Any ideas?

Is it easy to replace the cable with third party products i.e. is the connector type fairly "standard"?

Not seen the JVC's before....have heard the ATH-1100's are dreadful : ( Shame as they tick all boxes on paper. They are HUGE though

Not sure about the connector. It's a single pin on the driver with a female barrel-type connector on the cable; like an extremely small laptop power connector. They offer an upgraded cable as a bundle or separate. I bought it separately after the fact and was surprised how much difference it made to the bass and richness.

They certainly sound like what I'm after. What quality are the silicon tips supplied with the earphones?
