[Sonic Defender]

If anybody here has already done the USB upgrade on a Gungnir I would be really grateful for some information. First, how technical is the procedure? Is there the removal and application of solder involved at all? Jason from Schiit has not provided me any information to go on other than to say you need to be an electronics pro in order to do the upgrade. I am hoping he is just covering himself and the actual upgrade isn't that difficult. However, I have never done any electronic work in in the past, nor do I possess any equipment. I was hoping it was as simple as seating a card in a socket and connecting some electric leads. Any concrete information would be really appreciated. Thanks.

This was a very simple upgrade to do. Lots of case screws to deal with, and getting the diodes lined up is hard, but overall this upgrade was a breeze to do.

I just ordered the Gen 2 USB card myself just now, good to know..hope mine goes just as smooth..
