I love the sound of this card,my 595s never sounded smoother or cleaner,but when I listen to music through foobar the playback suffers from small interruptions if I'm using the internet or typing.Does anybody know what might be the cause for this? I'm using EMU ASIO,just for your information...

foobar is competing for resources with everything else running on your computer. If you run task manager when this is happening, you'll see that the CPU is running at or near 100%. The same thing happens to me with iTunes. I think I've read that ASIO can suck up a lot of resources.

I have the opposite problem, it doesn't matter what is running my cpu rarely goes over 10% usage. Running more programs keep the same usage but everything goes slower

It's getting annoying.

Using the EMU ASIO selection in Foobar2000 produced about 10 seconds of sound followed by garbage sound. Basically unusable with ASIO. I have to use the direct sound choice.

DS : E-MU 0404 | USB this one is ok
ASIO : ASIO E-MU 0404 | USB this one makes garbage sound after ~10 seconds
