I use component video cables with my Playstation 2 so I am forced to use its digital optical output if I want to hear what's going on. Currently, I have it hooked up to the D/O input on my computer's soundcard so I have to turn on my computer every time I want to play. I want to get an entry-level receiver so I don't have to turn on my computer every time and looking at one of the posts at hometheaterforum.com, two good entry-level receivers are the Kenwood VR-6050 and JVC RX-6020VBK. Does anyone know if these, or any receiver, can route the sound from its digital optical input to one of its RCA outputs? (for my headphone amp.) Thanks.

I don't know anything about the specific receivers you listed. However, check out www.hometheaterforum.com. They should be able to answer any questions you have.
