Help with AM/FM tuner

I live a fair way from town and with AM the built in antenna's work fine, but with FM to get good static free reception then a roof mounted aerial is the only solution.

Not a problem here as the TV antennas are FM as well,do not know what you have/use.

I need to clean up and boost AM signals with this receiver. Time of day and radio station selection have a big impact. I have heard that the Terk AM advantage is an OK choice for my AM tuner. Do you have any other suggestions?

PS: At one time I did DX listening on a short wave receiver. I pulled in many European, Caribbean, etc stations over the air. I was able to get China (relay in Canada) but never Australia. The best I ever did on AM on a built-in antenna was pulling in stations in Manhattan and Chicago in my place near Toronto. That was a different  receiver; however. :)
