Help with 1st quality sound headphones

Im sorry if I wasn't clear, the main use is electric music and movies on the road and at home, I want the best sound I can get at this budget, and if it means less portability I dont care.

Then get M50 (or again maybe M35). The introduction of M50x should drive the price down a little.

If you later decide that the longer cord bothers you, send it in to BTG audio for a recable. Note: I found the straight cable version easier to wrap up for transportation.

The CAL is still a great choice for an overall can within your budget. Whichever you Go with tell us about it

Try to avoid the new version as I've read the older version is quite a bit better.

The new version lacks treble (a lot), but it sounds quite spacious.

I'm finding the Takstar HD5500 to be excellent for EDM, clarity better than any consumer brands I've tried (especially when paired with a cheap DAC/Amp like Fiio E07K), and have the most comfortable pleather pads of any of the cans I own.
