Hi, I am looking for a portable audio player. I'm getting a new phone, probably the Note 3, but I have heard that the audio isn't that good, so I am looking for a new portable audio player, just for music of course. Most of the files will be 320 kbps mp3 files, with some 16bit flac files too.

My requirements:
- Good audio quality, of course (enough power to drive a 300-400 dollar would also be nice)
- Battery life: AT LEAST 10 hours, preferably over 15 hours
- Good interface, without lag and too much bugs, android or iOS would be nice
- Budget: <$750, preferably under $500

The best UI is pretty much hands down ipods or apple players. Sound quality is not that bad but obviously there are better options. If UI is important to you they should still be on the list of possibilities.

In addition to the fiio x3 there is also the ibasso DX50 which is a wonderful player. Most of the UI glitches have been hammered out and its quite a user friendly player and quite nice sounding with great versatility.

If you want ultra portability you can possibly consider the sansa clip.
