Somehow, somewhere I picked up something on my computer that no matter what website I am visiting, at regular intervals I get pop-up ads. Now I've tried using Spybot, but that apparently didn't work. Any ideas?

Spybot and Adaware keep my computer clean. Try adaware out, combined with spybot they can get just about anything.

This happened to my son a few months ago as well. I remember that there were files that had been place in the program files directory and a small program somehow got installed. I removed the program and files and have not had any problem since. I am sorry that I cannot recall what the name of it was. However, if you go to your add/delete programs in the control panel you may notice one you do not recognize.
