Hey, I have a pair of senn HD580s that I enjoy, however I would like something a bit more up beat(not as laid back) and also something closed because I was just on a 11 hour flight and man did it bite using the ipod cans if you can even call them that. Anyhow, here is what I am looking at the AKG K271 or the Beyerdynamic DT250. I lean more towards the AKGs for the very shallow reason of the fact that they look a lot better. Anyhow, any help is appreciated. I currently use home made amp for my headphones also if that helps

Alright. So are there any closed Sennheisers that sound similar to the hd580s?

Maybe some 280s?

not exactly.. Another option would be the A900s. I think the A900s are going so sound alittle more like the HD580 because of the bass being more present. I can't see you going with a cheaper line with the HD580 sounding so good.

I think I have decided not to replace, but instead get a second set so I can use them for studio etc.
