So, my almost brand-new Pro-Ject Debut III is dead in the right channel! What the heck?

Here's what I know:

- The headshell leads look fine.
- The stylus was fine last time I played a record and looks ok to the naked eye.
- It's NOT the receiver.
- When I put the balance all the way to the right and I crank up the volume I can hear music softly but I think it's the left channel crossing over.

Where the heck do I start and what is the most likely scenario?

Swap lead pairs for left and right channel on the cartridge...

I had the same issues. It turned out to be my cartridge. I'm assuming one of the springs came loose from my research. I tried my budget cartridge which verified that. I still haven't sent it in for repair or replacement, but it was strange to have one dead channel and one working even though the stylus looked fine.

Let us know when you find out what it is.

Miraculously it's fine again. No imbalance or anything. I litterally didn't do anything to it, so I'm sure this is probably going to happen again somewhere down the road. I'm assuming it's the cartridge, but couldn't it also be the phono pre?
