Hello all,

Recently I bought a 256mb MP3 Player off eBay for $48 AU (About $36 US) and all is good and well, I can transfer songs onto it, it works perfectly as a USB device but it won't turn on! Nor does the screen ever show anything even when it is plugged in. All I did was delete 1 mp3 file and 3 "lrc" files which shared the name of the one song it had to start with "butterfly" (I remembered lrc files contain lyrics). Anyway I hope someone more educated than me can help me out, surely if the USB is still functional the screen should be too. There are no scratches, problems, the AAA battery it came with and the AAA battery I bought both don't work, and I've checked that they are in properly.

The way I'm trying to turn it on is by holding down the play button, which is what my friends do with theirs (which are also no-brand) and it works. I read the manual and it says to hold stop as well, but that doesn't work either, nor does holding any other combination of buttons (tried already). There is no ON switch on the mp3 player.

Help!

EDIT: The item is still viewable on eBay, it can be seen by searching ebay for item number #5793008632 (without the hash). I'm not sure if this information helps but if it does, here it is.

The seller seems plenty reputable, I suggest contacting him ASAP.

Your seller has almost 5k transactions so I doubt he tried to scam you in any way. Try sending a polite Email decribing your problem, as long as you keep things civil he should be more than willing to help you, He may even send you another
