Help needed regarding volume and Clipping issue

Hi guys I have a problem with clipping in foobar when playing 320kbps quality music. My setup is dacmagic > m-stage amp  > HD600 and I have volume in foobar and windows set to 100%. If I turn the volume down in foobar or windows to around 80% the clipping goes away but I heard this is not good and should always have digital volume at max and use the m-stage to adjust the volume..? can someone help me out please? Reducing digital volume by a couple of dB is a non-issue if you use 24 bit output format. The choice between a small increase of normally inaudible noise floor and audible clipping should be obvious.

Things that may cause clipping in Foobar include:
- replay gain settings: switch it off
- equalizers: disable. If you have to use one, reduce the gain rather than increasing (i.e. use the -dB side of sliders only)
- other DSP plugins: remove them all to see if that helps
 
If nothing helps, my leaning would be to reduce the volume in Foobar rather than in Windows. You may also try fiddling with the replay gain settings trying to tame down the volume, but it would be equivalent to using the volume control on Foobar.
 
 
This problem could be also related to a poorly recorded source, but I assume you have already eliminated that.

Thanks for the replies, I am not using any eq or DSP plugins and I still get bad clipping at max volume. I turned foobar down to -3.00db and the clipping has pretty much cleared up. I am using 24bit output too so it's nice to know that there shouldn't be any issues that come with  lowering the volume digitally.

Don't lower foobar2000's volume, leave it unattenuated, and adjust volume solely through the Windows volume control.

Ok then I will leave foobar at max and change windows volume to 75%. Also I have some HD albums in 24bit 96khz, if I set windows to 96khz 24bit will it have any negative affect on normal cd's that are 44.1khz with my dac? many thanks.
