Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase my first pair of IEMs and am overwhelmed by the number and variety of them and all of the info pertaining thereto. I don't think there's anyplace near me that will allow auditioning. So I'm looking for some suggestions to help winnow the field.

As a point of reference in full size headphones, I have, and love, my Senn 650s (with Moon Audio Black Dragon Cables). My amp (which I would like to also use with the IEMs) is an iFi Micro iCan.

I listen primarily to classical, folk/americana and jazz.

Comfort is, of course, important and a detachable cable would be nice. Would like to keep the price to around $300.

Thoughts?

TIA

Rob

If you'd like to stick with Sennheiser the IE80 is currently on sale for $230 (usually $300 and cheapest I've seen was $280).

Alternatively you could go for something like the Shure SE425 which is more balanced.
