I need instructions how I could get 16 bit / 44.1 Khz sound out of my E-MU 1212M ADAT/SPDIF outs. I am going to upgrade to Musical Fidelity X-DAC during summer and I would like it to get 16 bit / 44.1 Khz signal from the soundcard. Atm. when using Foobar 2000 I can only get it working choosing 32 bit or 24 to 32 bit formats. Where in patchmix can I set that I am outputting 16 bit so that Foobar will cooperate?

Emu only output 24 bit. Pretty sure the MF X-DAC is ok with that though.

Ah I see. Well if I try to use 24 bit fixed mode in Foobar it also gives same error message as with 16 bit. 24 to 32 and 32 bit modes are the only ones that work there. MF Dac is sampling to 24 bit / 192 Khz. Will the 32 bit output from the 1212M be a problem as basically the Dac will be doing downsampling with the bitrate?

Just do 24bit padded to 32bit because Emu's driver is 32bits. When it goes to the DAC through Emu, the extra bits (the padded ones) will be discarded so no harm by doing so.

Allright. Thanks for the help both of you two.
