The newest version of the MiniBox is the E+. In it the manufacturer installed 1,500 uF 10V Caps because they claim they could not find a quality 2,200 uF 10 V Cap that would fit in the space.

Here is a picture of the two 1,500 uF 10V Caps inside the MiniBox-E+.

Every cap I have found is way to big, either 10X20 or 10X25 or even larger. So, can someone point me in the right direction? I would think that the caps can not be longer tha 14mm or perhaps 15mm.

Thanks.

whoaaaa that is one biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig picture

uh ... someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think it is going to be impossible to find a "normal" quality electrolytic cap of 2200uF 10V that is going to fit in that space!

2200uF is a big jump in capacitance, and if you want to keep them at 10V rating then they WILL be physically bigger.

maybe look at 2200uF 6.3V? but i don't know what the voltage requirements of the circuit are so tread carefully.

uhhhh. . .well maybe it doesn't exist?

Honestly if you did find another one, it'd probably be some crappy cap with bad ESR or something (if they used those double-layer electrolytics you could probably pull it off, but it'd have worse ESR and filtering characteristics than what's in there right now)

And who says you need that much capacitance, anyway? In general, a smaller capacitor from a better cap series is better than a larger capacitor from a crappy series.
