There was a song that was popular for a while in the 80s. Think it was somewhere between the mid 80s to late 80s. The one thing I remember about it is that it had a very simple, very syncopated beat of percussion instruments. No guitars or anything. And just a simple male vocal. I can "hear" the lyrics but can't remember any of the actual words. I think the chorus was something like "nothing left to say," though that doesn't seem to be the title.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks!

it doesn't fit the description perfectly but it could be
nothing to say - soundgarden

Oh no, that's not it. It was just slow, syncopated percussion. Very light. Not heavy. Sort of like the very beginning of Phil Collins' In The Air Tonight but no guitars.

Thanks anyway!

FOUND IT!

Was Howard Jones' No One Is To Blame (which sort of rhymes with "nothing left to say").

Whew! Can put that one to rest now. :D
