Spending limit is $500.

My gear I picked..

Someone told me to drop my mixer and just buy this - http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/alesis-io4-4-channel-24-bit-recording-interface

(Because its 24 bit over the 16 bit mixer, he said I really didn't need a mixer for just doing a livestream/podcast)

He also told me to drop the Audio-Technica ATM M50 Studio Monitor headphones for Sennheiser 280's but I think I'd lose performance?

I also decided on $43 Quad Microphone Gold Mogami's for Studio Neutrik XLR 6 foot, BUT he said they were overpriced and mic cables didn't improve sound.

My gear is you don't want to click the imgur link:

Cables - Mogami Gold Cables $43

Boom - Heil Sound PL-2T Overhead Broadcast Boom $120

Mixer - Alesis MultiMix 4 USB compact mixer $79

Pop Filter - Musician's Gear Double Pop Filter 6 inch $18

Headphones - Audio-Technica ATM-M50 Studio Monitor Headphones $169

Mic - MXL 990 Condenser Microphone with shockmount $79

$510 total

Someone make sure I'm not wasting my money, I like the boom, I know I don't need it but I don't have deskroom and Its what I want, I'm open to cheaper booms if you can find them.

People tell me not to go into my soundcard at all, so I guess since I'll be going through my audio interface or a mixer it will have a built in sound card right?

Only reason I'd need a sound card would be if I used my mic on the computer right? I could use my headphones on the interface/mixer to listen to music right?

Meh.  For what you're doing 16 bits is fine.  Alesis doesn't publish any meaningful audio specs on either anyway, and there are virtually no 24 bit audio interfaces that actually provide real 24 bit performance anyway.

Pretty sure you can do just fine with the MXL-BCD-Stand, dump the Heil boom and the $43/6' cable.

Never spend $7.66/ft on cable of any kind.

No feelings on the mic or pop filter, though I think a $79 LDC mic might be perhaps a bit fragile, but probably will work fine for a while.

The Alesis mixer should be all the sound card you need.
