Just to update everyone, I have broken my hand and will be forced to postpone my first round of purchases do to my medical bills. Please keep the suggestions coming though! I am going to go through and make an Amazon wish list of CD's. Since I won't be working for a while I should have a lot of time on my hands. Thanks again for all the replies!

I like all kinds of music. I have everything on my Ipod like: Andrea Bocelli, Bloodhound Gang, R.E.M., Johnny Cash, Donna Summer, Fear Factory, Floggy Molly, Marvin Gaye, Dead Kennedys, Lil John, etc, etc... I really listen to everything.
Thanks for the offer but I will just wait till I can pick up a few CD's. I still have over 70 gigs of music on my Ipod to hold me over till I get a few new albums.
The same thing happenrd to me (music stolen) so I just started from 0 cd too. This time there all getting ripped lossless to a harddrive/ server so I always have a copy. As long as they dont steal the computer too.
If I lost my CD collection these would be the ones I would have to replace. There are lots of others I would miss, but these would hold me over for a while.
Alchemy-Great Live Dire Straits CD. One of many great Dire Straits. (I would probably replace 3-4 others as well in truth) Viva La Vida/ Prospekt's March-The best Cold Play CDs in my opinion.
Ben Folds Rockin The Suburbs-Ben at his best
Bloc Party Silent Alarm Remixed-I like the original Silent Alarm almost as much, and Intimacy and Weekend in the City. At the Sound of the Bell-Pavlovs Dog only really produced 2 CDs, this is slightly better than their First album and an unknown classic IMO. BIG TIME- Tom Waits at his most Tom Waitsish. Love the CD. Live In London-Leonard Cohen is the Man. This live CD is better than the essential collection, which therefore makes it ....essential.

Really sorry to hear!
First of all about the broken hand, but also the fact that you have postponed you CD collection rebuilding. The lack of great music is not fun..
